Learning objectives
The students are introduced to the "clinic" of already familiar concepts such as: occlusion, dental morphology and TMJ. When approaching the end of the course the students will have acquired the following competences subsequently listed. Focus on the significance of cranio-mandibular disorders and TMJ disorders in a dynamic and functional relation to other components of the stomatognathic system. Understanding the neuromuscular basis of mobility of the stomatognathic system and dental occlusion. Identifing the most appropriate diagnostic exams in the area. Setting up a simple treatment planning for occlusal disorders. Introducing and recognizing the concept of occlusal dysestesia disorder and the fundamental principles of obtaining and maintenance of occlusal harmony according with the innovations trends and the best practices.
Expected learning outcomes
To distinguish the specificity of the stomatognathic system into the whole body. Emphasize the importance of appropriate occlusion morphology, functionality and jaw relations from childhood to adulthood. Setting up a treatment plan for the most prevalent diseases in the field.
