Learning objectives
The course aims at providing the fundamental knowledge of pathologies in the field of internal medicine: the origin, the main clinical signs, the major treatments, the epidemiology and the problems connected to the management of acute and chronic pathology, especially with the elderly; specific attention is addressed to the field of oncology, geriatrics and neurology;
Expected learning outcomes
The student will be able to:
· discuss the fundamentals, the main signs and the main treatment methods of pathologies in the field of internal medicine (and in particular in oncology, geriatrics and neurology);
· discuss the most relevant epidemiological data of the current Italian population;
· discuss issues related to hospitalization / institutionalization with particular reference to the elderly person;
· discuss palliative care and cancer-related supportive therapies;
· discuss the structures of the central nervous system that control and integrate movement and sensory;
· discuss the basic aspects of neuropsychology;
· discuss the elements of first aid.
