Learning objectives
The course is focused on a deepening of biotechnological drugs, with particular attention to recombinant proteins for the cardiovascular sistem and to anticancer tumors. Students will learn :
- to understand what biotenologies and recombinant DNA technologies are;
- what are recombinant therapeutic proteins and how to obtaine them;
- to have an overview of the therapeutic proteins used as antifibrinolytics and hematopoietic;
- to understand what are monoclonal and their use in oncology;
- to understand which are the "new drugs and pharmacological targets": brief mention of epigenent mechanisms and epidrugs, mediated cell therapies and genome editing
Expected learning outcomes
The learning outcomes will focus on
- verify if the student has learned and re-elaborated the basic concepts inherent to therapeutic proteins: what and which are, how they are obtained and how they can be modified;
- check if the student is aware of the existence of new pharmacological targets and innovative therapies.
