Learning objectives
The course aims to put the topic of human rights at the centre of legal reflection from a philosophical and sociological point of view.

The purpose is to investigate Human Rights' historical evolution, structure and function.

The socio-legal analysis will allow to identify processes, contradictions and the historical paths that allow the rise of human rights in the framework of the legal culture.

The case study method, will be used to test hypotheses about the functions of human rights.
Expected learning outcomes
Students will be able to face the contemporary debate on the violation of human rights in times of war and peace, in interdisciplinary terms, not only taking into account inter-national relations but also internal social relations, in light of an idea of social justice.
