Teaching Workshop: Places of Contemporary Art in Milan

Learning objectives
The seminar lessons aim at presenting a map of the venues connected to the conservation, study and promotion of contemporary art in Milan by exploring their typologies, heritage and activities. Through focuses and case studies - essentially devoted to museums, collections, archives - the lessons will address different historiographical and methodological knots, in order to provide students with specific knowledge and understanding on the concerned issues and to promote fieldwork.
Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge and understanding: Knowledge of the network of public and private spaces devoted to the diffusion of contemporary art cultures in the area, with specific attention to their history and activity.
Applying knowledge and understanding: Acquisition of historiographical and methodological perspectives essential to the understanding of the key sector dynamics and to the study of the related topics, in dialogue with the art history discipline issues and with the job opportunities in the field of cultural heritage.
