Arabic Specialised Translation

The course aims to provide students with the tools to translate various text types, identifying the related difficulties and the appropriate translation strategies, also in consideration of the purposes of the translation.

- Learning the fundamentals of translation studies.
- Being able to translate a wide range of texts of various degrees of complexity from Arabic into Italian, mastering the main resources and strategies available for translating in this language combination.
- Being able to skilfully render the specialised vocabulary, discursive strategies and stylistic features of the source texts into the target language, in line with their intended purpose and target audiences.
- With regard to the translation of texts intended for publication, acquiring foundational competence in editorial strategies, in accordance with the needs of the Italian publishing market.
