Learning objectives
- Acquire the basic concepts of economic and business analysis applied to health systems (accredited public, private and private health);
- Acquire a unitary vision on the functioning of companies and a capacity to observe corporate phenomena in the public and private health sector - accredited private- Understand the specificities of the health sector (public and / or private, accredited private);
- Understand how managerial functions can contribute to the pursuit of the goals of ASL / Hospital and health system (public and / or private, private accredited).

Expected learning outcomes
The course aims to provide students with the main tools to:
- interpret the economic-financial equilibrium of health and hospital companies by reading the financial statements and management control data;
- understand the complexity of the management and organization of healthcare companies, in light of the emerging challenges in the Italian health sector;
- acquire the necessary elements for the management of the staff of the health companies

1. In-depth analysis of economic implications for the health sectors and emerging challenges for health organizations and health professionasl;
2. Understanding why healthcare sector is the most complex and its specificities. Why management does matter and which leadership and managerial practices are effective;
3. Professionalism, engagement of health professionals and its consequences; organizational behavior and personnel management in health care organizations;
4. Organizational design of health services: hospital, community and integrated delivery systems.
5. New and emerging scenarios, trends and developments in health management and business-healthcare sector relations and partnerships.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The assessment of learning outcomes is carried out through a written exam, scheduled during specific exam sessions, in accordance with the official regulations.
A maximum of six exam dates may be scheduled per academic year, with two sessions per exam period.
The exam consists of a written multiple-choice quiz with 31 questions, each offering five possible answers, only one of which is correct.
There is no penalty for unanswered or incorrect questions. The final score will be based on the number of correct answers, and the time allotted for the exam is 60 minutes.
The exam questions are based on the lecture slides presented in class and available on ARIEL, as well as the recommended textbooks and the bibliography provided by the instructor.
Students may withdraw from the exam at any time and may review their exam by arranging an appointment with the instructor.
There are no midterm exams or early exam sessions.
No study materials, notes, smartphones, or smartwatches are allowed during the exam.
Results will be published on the course's ARIEL webpage, and grades will be officially recorded through the University's online system by the Exam Board Chair.
