Learning objectives
This second-year course delves deeper into the topics analysed in the previous year. Notably, it provides a detailed analysis of specific aspects of Latin American cultural identity, to further strengthen students' ability to understand and analyse different cultural products. The focus will be on contemporary cultural phenomena, to give students an exhaustive overview of the cultural life of the continent.
Expected learning outcomes
In continuity with the expected outcomes of the first year, second-year students are expected to acquire a deeper knowledge of the many contemporary cultural phenomena of Latin America, in all their manifestations. Moreover, they should be able to understand the interrelations between these phenomena from both a historical and a social perspective. They should demonstrate good critical thinking skills, both independently and within a group.
