Learning objectives
The course aims to analyze the economic value and structure of the global contemporary music industry (publishing, phonography, music, media, rights, musical instruments, education) and related sectors (consumer electronics, tourism, etc.), also relating to the institutional and regulatory framework and the historical path that has shaped it
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the course, the student will have knowledge of the context within which the contemporary music industry operates, with particular reference to the regulatory framework (funding laws, tax regulations, rights distribution, etc.) and the historical context (from the origins of entertainment music in the 19th century to the present day).
