Learning objectives
The aim of the course is to develop solid and in-depth lexical, syntactic, translation and writing skills in relation to one or more specific text types, identified each year in accordance with current trends, particular events or anniversaries, and specific literary or cultural phenomena expressed in contemporary Indian society.
The analytical work conducted on the selected text corpus will enable students to gain a deeper understanding of language usage contexts, leading to improved linguistic, lexical, expressive and translation competence.
During the course, students will acquire specialised or sector-specific vocabulary and learn how to translate and produce texts across various communicative domains. By analysing texts, they will also strengthen their ability to further develop their linguistic knowledge and proficiency on their own.
Expected learning outcomes
By producing texts and presentations in the target language and participating in group activities designed to encourage discussion and exchange on specific topics, students will be able to engage in a more refined and conscious reflection on translation practices. They will improve their ability to rephrase ideas and content from various sources, both in written and oral form, and will be able to produce different text types. Furthermore, they will develop oral and written argumentative skills, reinforcing their prior knowledge of grammatical and syntactic structures as necessary to effectively engage in a debate in Hindi.
