Learning objectives
This course, which is structured into three modules, is the continuation of the first-year course Japanese Language and Translation I. It is designed to help students acquire advanced linguistic and communicative skills, and to begin preparation for the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) at level N2. More specifically, the course aims to improve students' command of Japanese vocabulary, expressions and morphosyntactic elements at N2 level, as well as oral and written production skills, also with regard to business Japanese. Furthermore, the course will explore translation strategies from Japanese into Italian, while also providing an introduction to Japanese linguistics and teaching methodology.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students will be able to recognise the linguistic structures presented in the textbooks, and the principles underlying their formation, from a theoretical perspective. They will also be able to put the course contents into practice in highly complex situations, paying particular attention to the communicative and sociocultural contexts in which they are required to speak or write. Upon completion of the course, students are expected to achieve the N2 level on the JPLT scale.
