Learning objectives
The course provides students with the principles of differential diagnosis and management of the main internal medicine conditions. Emphasis is placed on the care of elderly patients, multimorbidity, and the integration of palliative care when appropriate.
Through the discussion of clinical cases, students will develop skills in differential diagnosis and evidence-based therapeutic decision-making according to current guidelines.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students are expected to understand the main internal medicine conditions, including their pathophysiology, clinical presentation, and complications. They will be able to apply differential diagnostic reasoning, develop evidence-based therapeutic plans, and manage patients with multimorbidity, with particular attention to elderly patients. Students will also gain the skills to integrate palliative care when appropriate and to discuss clinical cases effectively, demonstrating a patient-centered and guideline-oriented approach.
