Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with the conceptual and practical tools required to conduct research on cultural practices in various contexts adopting both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Students will acquire methodological skills to design and conduct empirical studies, analyse cultural phenomena and interpret data on cultural behaviour and phenomena. The course also aims to foster students' critical analysis of different theories and methodological approaches, encouraging them to reflect on the role of cultural practices in contemporary society.
Expected learning outcomes
- Knowledge of the main research methods and techniques used in the analysis of cultural practices, including interviews, participant observation, content analysis and quantitative approaches.
- Ability to design and conduct a research project on cultural practices, selecting the most appropriate method according to context and objectives.
- Competence in the critical analysis and interpretation of collected data.
- Ability to communicate research findings clearly and with scientific rigour, both orally and in writing, to academic and general audiences.
- Ability to critically reflect on the social and cultural implications of the cultural practices studied.
