Neuropsicologia e neurolinguistica delle cerebrolesioni acquisite e delle malattie neurodegenerative ed infiammatorie
A.Y. 2025/2026
Learning objectives
The course aims to provide a general understanding of the semiology and diagnostics of cognitive, linguistic and behavioral disorders in patients suffering from the main neurological diseases of vascular, degenerative and inflammatory etiology. In particular, the course main scope is that students acquire knowledge about the clinical presentations of neuropsychological and neurolinguistic disorders in the aforementioned brain diseases and the methods and tools for evaluating these disorders.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will be able to:
· Understand the clinical characteristics of cognitive, behavioral, and linguistic disorders in major cerebrovascular, neurodegenerative, and neuroinflammatory diseases;
· Apply qualitative and quantitative methodologies for the assessment of these disorders;
· Consult and interpret scientific literature in neuropsychology and neurolinguistics to formulate experimental hypotheses;
· Develop critical thinking skills on neuropsychological and neurolinguistic topics related to neurological disorders of vascular, degenerative, or inflammatory origin;
· Communicate the knowledge acquired in the field of neuropsychology and neurolinguistics;
· Acquire a solid foundation for exploring advanced topics in neuropsychology and neurolinguistics of neurological diseases.

Teaching methods
The main teaching method will consist of frontal lessons. Furthermore, during the course, thematic insights will be offered to students through the use of a selected range of scientific articles - which will be discussed and analyzed interactively in the classroom.
Teaching Resources
Bibliography will be provided during the course and uploaded to the MyAriel website.
Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam will consist of a written test enclosing 62 closed multiple choice questions (4 answer options, of which only one is correct). The main evaluation parameters will be represented by the correctness of the notions and the critical ability developed towards the latter. learned The vote will be expressed in thirtieths; honors may be awarded if the student answers all 62 questions correctly. The exam will be the same for attending and non-attending students.
