Learning objectives
Through the frequency of professional activities, the student will acquire the following specific knowledge:
- Ability to collect the gynecological and obstetric history, and to know the fundamental concepts of the physiological evolution of pregnancy
- Ability to recognize the main diseases complicating pregnancy and the impact on its course
- Ability to focus on the clinical and therapeutic aspects of problems of female reproductive life
Ability to recognize the main benign gynecological pathologies and the most frequent gynecological surgical techniques
- To have observed a labor / delivery and a caesarean section
Expected learning outcomes
Learn the approach to gynecological and obstetric patients.
Observe the most common surgical techniques in gynecology (laparoscopy, laparotomy, vaginal surgery, and hysteroscopy).
Observe the management of pregnant patients (induction of labor, delivery of labor, cesarean sections in the obstetric operating room).

Course syllabus
Professional activities include the following UDE (Elementary Teaching Unit):
· Collect an obstetric anamnesis
· Collect a gynaecological anamnesis
· Perform a gynaecological physical examination, including a Pap test
· Plan clinical follow-up, laboratory tests and instrumental examinations for monitoring a physiological pregnancy
· Assist with a vaginal delivery or caesarean section
· Assist with an outpatient or operating theatre gynaecological procedure
Prerequisites for admission
Basic knowledge of biological, physiology, anatomy is required
Teaching methods
Attendance in the outpatient departments, day hospitals, and operating rooms of the CdL Training Network. Discussion of clinical cases

Assessment methods and Criteria
The learning of each UDE (Elementary Teaching Unit) will be verified by the tutors through the signing of the "Clinical skills" booklet.
The acquisition of the UDE is a mandatory prerequisite for taking the exam and does not give rise to a grade out of 30, but has a qualifying function.
