Learning objectives
The course will provide the knowledge on the structure, function and reproductive biology of plants.
The aims are to improve understanding and recognition of the nature of plant materials used in historical/artistic contexts in order to carry out palaeoenvironmental reconstructions or as a starting point for the correct conservation of artefacts and/or archaeological finds. In addition, the aim of these skills is to improve knowledge about the organisms (plants and fungi) that could be involved in the biodegradation of cultural heritage.

Expected learning outcomes
Gain basic knowledge of the organization of plant organisms and their reproductive structures in order to analyse plant materials in the context of cultural heritage.
