Learning objectives
The course aims to illustrate the fundamental chronology and the essential methodological perspectives in the study of the history of art from late XVIII c. till today. Students will be introduced to the most important art tendencies and to the work of prominent artists, in order to direct their personal study of the textbooks and the appraisal of the works of art exhibited in the main public museums of Milan.
Expected learning outcomes
Conoscenze: Conoscenza approfondita dei principali autori e dei principali sviluppi dell'arte dal Neoclassicismo fino a oggi (pittura e scultura), anche attraverso l'esame diretto delle opere d'arte contemporanea esposte nei principali musei di Milano.
Competenze: Acquisizione dei metodi e delle competenze storiche e critiche fondamentali per lo studio, la lettura e l'analisi di opere esemplari della produzione artistica dell'Età contemporanea e per la loro contestualizzazione storico-culturale. Acquisizione di prospettive storiografiche e metodologiche di base.
