Learning objectives
This course delves deeper into the study of specialist communication in the Hispanic context through the analysis of written and oral discursive genres. The goal is to develop students' critical reading and metalinguistic skills. In particular, the course will explore the pragmatic and linguistic strategies of certain persuasive genres in the fields of politics and marketing. Students will also learn advanced grammatical and syntactic structures of the Spanish language, thus reaching level C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, which involves full proficiency in oral and written communication on a wide range of specialised topics.
Expected learning outcomes
The course aims to develop students' oral and written communication skills in specialised areas, combined with the ability to critically analyse the text types studied in the class. By the end of the course, students should demonstrate a good oral and written command of the Spanish language in complex situations (level C2). In particular, they will be able to recognise and analyse the syntactic and lexical structures of political and advertising texts, and to effectively express their opinion on the themes studied.
