Course syllabus
The workshop program is divided into three main sections:
- a brief introductory section dedicated to the history of archaeological drawing and its theoretical concepts, with particular attention to techniques, standards, and purposes;
- a substantial second section focused on practical exercises aimed at acquiring skills in the use of instruments for drawing artifacts and their correct graphic rendering;
- finally, a significant part reserved for the polishing of drawings (by hand and digitally) and the creation of figures or tables, with representations of artefacts in real life or to scale, useful for the production of final projects or scientific publications.
Prerequisites for admission
No prior experience in technical drawing of artefacts is required. During the course, all the necessary tools will be provided to acquire the correct methodological approach for drawing archaeological materials.
Teaching methods
The course begins with a theoretical lesson introducing the practical activities. Subsequent lessons will consist of technical drawing exercises using archaeological material and, finally, hand and digital polishing.
The course consists of five lessons, each lasting four hours, divided by an interval, so that sufficient time can be allocated to practical exercises.
