Learning objectives
The teaching method is seminar-based, with shared analysis of concrete case studies of theatre and concert institutions and festivals active on the international scene. A special focus is reserved for the festival format and provides participants with a series of practical/applicative tools, including some IT tools of practical use in performing arts management.
The actual workshop phase culminates in the drafting of a feasibility project for an original festival, entrusted to working groups, in which each participant will be asked to collaborate as part of an ideal management team, involved collectively in the identification of the concept and mission of the festival and individually in one of the macro-areas of project reference.
Expected learning outcomes
The aim of the training experience is to enable students to be able to define and recognise the characteristics of an artistic project in the performing arts; to become familiar with the different characters and spheres of performing arts production (and to recognise the typical properties of a complex vs. complicated system); to distinguish the professional profiles of an organisational structure and the main management models of musical theatre; to handle specific terminology with sufficient knowledge, bearing in mind the tools of project management applied to artistic production.
