Learning objectives
This is an advanced cell biology course with a strong emphasis on the various applications of biotechnology. The course focuses on the use and engineering of animal cells for scientific purposes, with particular attention to the generation and use of transgenic animals.
Expected learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will have acquired the fundamental knowledge of how cells can be isolated, manipulated, and used for applied purposes in the fields of biotechnology and animal transgenesis.
Students will also be able to describe current approaches for isolating, modifying, and using cells for biotechnological applications, employing appropriate scientific terminology.
