Learning objectives
The course aims to provide the theoretical, methodological, and applied knowledge required to understand teaching and motor learning processes and to design teaching activities that are consistent with the objectives of the intervention, the characteristics of participants, and the context in which the activities take place.
By integrating theoretical lessons with laboratory-based activities, the course aims to develop the ability to select and apply appropriate strategies, teaching styles, and organisational methods in the main areas of human movement: educational, pre-sport, recreational-expressive, and health- and well-being-promoting contexts.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
·describe the main concepts and models relating to the teaching of human movement and motor learning processes;
·distinguish and compare different teaching strategies, teaching styles, and ways of organising motor practice;
·analyse a motor activity by identifying its objectives, coordination demands, performance conditions, and potential learning difficulties;
·design exercises, sequences, and teaching progressions consistent with the intervention objectives;
·select and apply teaching strategies appropriate to different age groups, levels of motor competence, and participant characteristics;
·observe and evaluate the delivery of a motor activity, identifying potential issues and proposing appropriate modifications;
·collaborate in the design and delivery of small-group motor activities, critically reflecting on the experiences undertaken.
