Didactics of Italian language and literature (Donato Pirovano) > 10 hours

The classes will include discussions on some basic themes: why literature and what literature should we teach in today's schools? How to teach literature? Which textbooks? Which authors? Who are the classics? How to organise the classes? How to write a syllabus?
Classes will include exercises in textual analysis.
Finally, activities - individual or in groups - follow for planning and building teaching units. The exam materials and bibliography presuppose skills in literary history, the use of specific terminology and tools for the analysis of the literary text acquired in secondary school.


Didactics of French Language and Literature (Alessandra Preda) > 10 hours

The classes will include a reflection on the value of literature within the precincts of French culture (Barthes, Todorov, Compagnon, Gefen). The course aims at deepening the concepts of 'pleasure of the text' and 'reparation'.
The theoretical part will be followed by an exercise in the analysis of the poetic text and activities of programming and construction of teaching units. The last class will offer a dialogue with two high school teachers.


Didactics of language and literature (with reference to English) Alessandro Vescovi >10 hours

The module aims to interrogate first of all the concept of knowability of literature, also in relation to the critical idioms of the twentieth century. We will then talk about the literary canon, with particular reference to the problems posed by postcolonial literatures and to works in English written by non-British or non-American authors. Another issue addressed will concern the teaching of poetry, which involves linguistic problems often greater than those posed by prose. Finally, we will work on the concept of participatory teaching and the flipped classroom. During one class, we shall host prof. Schiavini, who has been part of the ministerial think tank that has written the draft for the new programmes.


Didactics of language and literature (Spanish and beyond) Alessandro Cassol >10 hours

The module explores the role of theatre in the teaching of foreign literature, with particular but not exclusive reference to the Spanish and Hispanic American contexts. Teaching methodologies and activities based on reading aloud, performance, dramatisation, and scenic rewriting of texts will be examined. Attention will be paid to the potential of theatre as an interpretative practice capable of encouraging students' active participation, developing linguistic and communicative skills, promoting reading education, and fostering intercultural skills. The module will also offer basic tools for the analysis of filmed theatrical performances, versions for radio and television, and film rewritings, always with a specific projection on possible educational paths.
