Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with the basics on:
· the radiation protection elements and regulations
· the concepts of hygiene and public health, health, disease and risk or preventive factors
· the organization of the response to the right to health
· the main epidemiological methodologies
· the natural history of diseases and the prevention of infectious and chronic-degenerative diseases
· some infectious diseases of social importance including hepatitis and HIV infection
· some themes of social epidemiology including the use of drugs, alcohol and smoking
· the health and safety of persons and workplaces
· the general principles of first aid
· the health and major aspects of occupational medicine and how this affects the safety of persons and workplaces in the various working environments, in particular health, health and education
· the main elements of the regulation of individual and collective labor relations, trade union and industrial relations law, social security and social security law in general

The course aims to highlight the main intrinsic and extrinsic factors that make elderly patients particularly vulnerable, notoriously affected by comorbidities and polytherapy and therefore more exposed to the toxic effects of drugs; address the complications and problems that impact their therapeutic management; provide critical and practical insights to contribute to an optimization of their care, in daily clinical practice.
