Learning objectives
The course provides the theoretical and methodological foundations of the discipline and aims to provide students with the basic knowledge needed to understand the importance and usefulness of iconography in music history study and research. Through the analysis of musical images, reflections on the meaning and use of music throughout the centuries will be conducted.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will be able to recognize and analyze the major iconographic-musical themes attested in Western artistic production from the Ancient era to the Baroque era and to understand their symbolic meaning.
