Learning objectives
The integrated course aims to provide students with a comprehensive and interdisciplinary understanding of major neuro-ophthalmologic clinical conditions. Through in-depth study of functional anatomy, clinical and instrumental semiotics, applied neuroanatomy, and ocular and neurologic pathology, the course fosters the development of core competencies for diagnostic assessment and clinical monitoring of patients with central and peripheral visual disorders, within a multidisciplinary framework.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the Integrated Course in Neuro-ophthalmology, students will be able to:
Understand the functional anatomy of the visual pathways and oculomotor systems.
Recognize the main neuro-ophthalmologic and orbital clinical conditions.
Interpret clinical and instrumental findings related to optic neuropathies, visual pathway disorders, adult strabismus, and oculomotor deficits.
Apply key clinical and instrumental diagnostic tests in the neuro-ophthalmologic field.
Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams in the assessment and monitoring of patients with neuro-ophthalmologic disorders.
