Learning objectives
The course aims at providing the basics of cognitive, affective, perceptive, motor and socio-cultural development; methods to apply the principles of human development and occupational therapy.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course the student will be able to:
· describe the development of daily activities in the first years of life;
· explain the importance of "playing" at all stages of life;
· observe, analyze and report occupations of children in nurseries and maternity schools;
· explain theoretical reference models in occupational therapy;
· assess the movement, the joint movement and the strength of the head, neck, trunk and limbs;
· learn craft techniques (clay or painting); designing, planning, creating products individually or in groups; analyze the activity.

- The meaning of play throughout life
- Theories of relational, sensory, exploratory and exercise play
- The stages of the symbolic play
- Theories about different types of play (video games, gang and team playing, dramatization, strategy playing, creative play, structured play, gambling)
- Your own playful dimension
- Observations of play in all ages and functions in cognitive, perceptive-motor, affective and socio-cultural development
- The observation of children in nursery schools and kindergartens
- Levels of development in activities in childhood
- Occupational history with individual work
