Learning objectives
The course provides knowledge in: motivation, stimulation, involvement, and assurance in all phases of physical activity and sports in individuals and groups; how to relate with persons differing in age, ability, sex, sociocultural level; how to use appropriate language, with special attention to an individual's stage of development; how to deal with stressful situations arising from the lapse into physical inactivity.
Expected learning outcomes
The students will have basic psychological knowledge to be able to effectively interact with practitioners on the basis of age, gender, social status, both individually and as a group. They will use various forms of verbal and non-verbal communication to be effective in their professional activity. They will also be aware of the psychological and pedagogical foundations for broadcast, as well as technical knowledge, ethical values and motivations appropriate to promote active lifestyle and a sport fair and free from the use of practices and substances that are potentially harmful to health.

Course syllabus
The aim of the first part of the course is to provide a general overview of the main concepts of cognitive psychology, such as perception, attention, emotions, and memory, as well as the neurophysiological foundations underlying these functions. Particular attention will be given to the applicability of these concepts in the context of sports performance and motor behavior, and how they may influence them.
The second part of the course will focus on exploring topics more specifically related to sport psychology, such as group dynamics, motivation, and the role of personality traits in sports practice.

No prerequisites are required.
Teaching methods
In-person mandatory lessons. An attendance rate falling below the mandatory minimum threshold of 70% will result in automatic exclusion from taking exams during the current academic year.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The exam consists in a written exam. It comprises eighteen multiple choice questions and four open-ended questions. The duration of the exam is one hour. Aim of the test is to assess knowledge of the course topics, and the ability to reason critically about the acquired knowledge. Votes are on a scale of thirty.
