Social and Environmental Psychology

The first module will focus on the main research themes of social psychology, situating the field within the social sciences, briefly tracing its historical evolution, and defining the methodological aspects of research. The second module will define the key constructs of environmental psychology as an application of psychological theory to the person-environment relationship. Specifically, the course will examine the discipline's history, spatial perception, forms of spatial mapping, the regulation of interpersonal distance, and the various dimensions of subjective well-being associated with experiencing natural and built environments. The third module (for the 9-CFU exam only) will explore models describing individual and collective well-being, highlighting their systemic and contextual dimensions and their connection to current ecological and environmental conditions, in conjunction with the topics addressed in the first two modules.
