Learning objectives
Students are given theoretical and practical information about the main morphological characteristics and physiological mechanisms specific of different animal tissues, as well as about their microscopic and macroscopic organization. The course provide scientific knowledge on the structural organization and functions of the main animal systems (digestive, endocrine, urogenital, respiratory, circulatory, integumentary) of biotechnological interest.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will acquire:
- Knowledge and understanding: students will demonstrate knowledge of the various anatomical districts of the body, their main physiological mechanisms, as well as of their interactions and regulation processes.
- Ability to apply knowledge and understanding/ Critical and judgment skills: critical thinking will be exercised through the in-depth study of certain topics using bibliographic material and textbooks. Students will also be able to critically understand histological preparations obtained from various tissues.
- Communication skills: students will demonstrate communication skills and the use of appropriate scientific terminology during the practical activities.
- Practical skills: students will be able to prepare and stain histological sections obtained from various organs.
