Technical Science of Biomedical Laboratory

Following the associated class of the 2nd year, this professionalizing laboratory class aims to show to the students the practice of the above-mentioned technologies together with the associated experimental approaches normally performed in a Research Biomedical Laboratory. In this context, the student will learn what are the duties of the so-called "Laboratory Manager" in all organization and practical steps required to perform these work methodologies.

At the end of the class, the student will acquire knowledge on theory and practice of the following techniques: Cytogenetics and Molecular Cytogenetics, Methodologies of Enzymatic Measurements and Flow Cytometry that are used to determine the diagnosis and the prognosis of genetic and immunologic diseases (Chromosome diseases, paediatric immune-deficiencies, auto-inflammatory diseases, storage diseases like Amyloidosis). She/He will also be able to know both the theory and practice of the main pre-transfusion tests.
