Criminal Trial and European Union

The course will be divided along two guidelines: on the one hand, the theme of the harmonization of procedural rules will be explored, with particular reference to defensive guarantees, the protection of the victim and the rights of juvenile offenders; on the other hand, the most relevant instruments of European judicial cooperation will be analysed, including the arrest warrant, the European criminal investigation order and, finally, attention will be paid to the recent establishment of the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO).
