The course aims at providing students with a basic understanding of the analysis of panel data, which consist of measurements of predictor and response variables at two or more points in time for many units of observation. The discussion of opportunity and challenges of panel data will be followed by the presentation of linear and logistic regression models. by focusing on robust standard errors, generalized least squares with maximum likelihood, random and fixed effects models as well as between-within models. At the end of the course, students should be able to apply these methods to an original research question. The lectures will be combined with hands-on sessions.
Mandatory for students of PhD program in Economic Sociology and Labour Studies.
