The course will present the different experimental models, both in vitro and in vivo, which are currently available and used to study different neurological and neuromuscular disorders, including spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), Kennedy's disease (SBMA), amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), Duchenne dystrophy.
The goal is to give an overview of the state of the art for these disorders with the specific aim to show the limits and advantages in the use of the current preclinical models. A special focus will be made on how these experimental models help in the definition of the pathogenic mechanisms and in the development of the therapeutic strategies.
Speakers working on specific disorders will be invited to share literature data as well as their own expertise in the field.
