Evolutions and Changes of Meaning in Places, Texts and Contexts

According to the aims set by the PhD course, the classes will analyze, in a diachronic and synchronic perspective, the changes that places and cultural products faced in the common perception. Texts from different periods and cultures will be examined, along with the organization of places of religious, social and political relevance. Thanks to the multidisciplinary approach and the chronological period considered, the complex relationship between products of culture and societies will be investigated through focusing on the changes of meaning faced by a text or a context under the pressure of social and cultural transformations in different times and cultures.
