The teaching proposal aims to present PhD students with the historiographical assumptions, research methods, sources, and expected objectives of two Research Projects funded under the PRIN 2022 call - Projects of Significant National Interest. The two projects aim to renew the economic and social history of Jews in the long term: on the one hand by insisting on a spatial approach, also through the construction of an open access digital atlas; on the other, by developing a multidisciplinary approach to overcome the old - but still tenacious - paradigm of the insularity of Jewish history and culture in relation to general history. The projects thus place the focus of the researchers' attention on the social, economic, cultural, and material exchanges between the Jewish minority and surrounding societies, in the historical and chronological areas indicated above.
