The course fits with the aims of Public Health Sciences PhD program, including the development of research methodologies to identify particular groups at risk and prevention policies in the area of public health and in the context of services to the population for protecting and promoting individual health. The course aims at understanding how to implement comparative effectiveness research using real world data (RWD) when adopting the framework of target trial emulation (TTE). In this course we will describe the main sources of bias affecting RWD, describe how TTE can address some of them, and discuss its application in a computer practical.
Participants are expected to be familiar with basic epidemiologic concepts and regression models.
