The History of Journalism and Periodical Studies: Methods, Case Studies, and Perspectives

The course aims to introduce PhD students to the main research methodologies in the field of journalism history and periodical studies, offering historiographical insights and critical tools for the analysis of sources and forms of communication. Particular attention will be paid to the intertwining of journalistic practices, visual dimensions and communication cultures. The course aims to develop comparative reading skills and interpretative perspectives useful for an interdisciplinary approach to media history.
