"Errors in conducting statistical analyses, interpreting results, and reporting findings in biomedical studies are common, often due to inadequate statistical training. This course provides students with the theoretical foundations and practical skills necessary for planning and executing statistical analyses in biomedical research. Key topics include data collection, statistical inference, hypothesis testing, and power and sample size estimation.
The course combines theoretical lectures with hands-on practical sessions, where students will analyse real datasets from laboratory experiments and other biomedical studies. It will be delivered over three to four half-day sessions in January 2026. The course will be held together with "" Applied statistics for biomedical research"". At the end of the course, students will complete an evaluation test."
