This course provides PhD students with fundamental knowledge on how to conduct and evaluate experimental research involving human participants. It introduces the core principles of experimental design, helping students understand how to structure such studies. The course also covers key concepts related to metrics and measurements, explaining how to select appropriate indicators and collect data effectively. Particular attention is given to the analysis of results, enabling students to interpret findings in a rigorous and scientifically sound way. In addition, the course presents essential research methods commonly used in studies involving human participants and discusses the role of human factors in shaping experimental outcomes. Finally, it addresses the ethical aspects of conducting research with people, emphasizing responsible practices, participant protection, and adherence to ethical standards throughout the research process.
