Important Visa Information for International Applicants
Dear International Applicants,
Some of you have contacted us for help in ensuring visa appointments with Italian embassies or consulates in their countries. We’d like to clarify an important point about the visa process:
Pre-enrolment at the university does not guarantee a visa appointment at embassies or consulates. These appointments are managed independently by diplomatic offices and are subject to their availability and procedures.
Similarly, being accepted by the university does not automatically mean you will receive a student visa. As outlined in the official guidelines (“Procedures for the entry, residence, enrolment of international students and recognition of qualifications for higher education courses in Italy – Academic Year 2025–2026”, page 7), the decision to issue a visa is made solely by the relevant embassy or consulate.
We appreciate your commitment to your studies, and we understand your frustration when the process is delayed. However, please be advised that we are unable to assist in securing appointments or visas. We kindly ask you to refrain from asking us for individual assistance on this specific point. Thank you again for choosing the University of Milan – we hope to welcome you soon!
