Module 1: an introduction to communication theory and the main tools to become an effective communicator in the workplace (lecturing plus examples and case studies)
Module 2: business English practice (focus on English for management). The module will introduce workplace related language and functional language necessary to work in an English-speaking environment. The focus will be on business vocabulary and language functions such as agreeing/disagreeing; expressing opinions; presenting bad news; presenting one's idea; participating in a meeting; formal and informal communicative contexts, etc. Students will also be guided through the creation of their CV in English.
Module 3: institutional and political discourse (dispensa). Students will read and work on institutional and political texts so as to learn and recognise the main features of institutional discourse and to familiarise themselves with the relevant terminology.
