Lezioni frontali
Module: Nanotoxicology: effects of nanomaterials and nanoparticles
Programma
The risk of nanomaterials and nanoparticles, is related to their chemical and physiochemical properties, i.e. size, shape, solubility, surface charge and surface reactivity.
The course will provide information on possible sources, exposure and toxicological effects of nanomaterials and nanoparticles.
Nanotoxicology: introduction (2 hours)
Toxicological effects of nanomaterials and nanoparticles (4 hours)
Eco-toxicology of nanomaterials (4 hours )
Nanotoxicology in vitro model systems (4 hours )

Materiale didattico su Ariel
Module: Nanomicrobiology: applications to biomedicine
Programma
The aim of this course, through the application of advanced AFM technique on microbial cells at nanometer resolution, is to investigate on bacteria and fungi the molecular bases of pathogen-host and pathogen-drug interactions
Metodi didattici
Lezioni
Materiale di riferimento
Slides and papers
Module: Nanomaterials in tissue engineering
Programma
The aim of the module is to convey information about the most modern and common nanomaterials and nanostructures employed in tissue engineering, mainly in veterinary field. Given the ample spread of the arguments, the module will focus on the nanostructures and on some aspects of tissue biology, e.g. bone, cartilage, vascular tissue.
