- metabolism of skeletal and cardiac muscle cell at rest and during exercise;
- biological basis of human nutrition for sport and exercise;
- biochemical parameters in blood and urine, to monitor athlete health and to detect emodoping.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of this course students will achieve a good knowledge of:
- metabolism of skeletal and cardiac muscle cells and relationship between different energy substrates and metabolic pathways as a function of exercise intensity and length;
- biological basis of nutrition;
- main clinical diagnostic tests related to sport and exercise.
