Course syllabus
- Health and disease: the determinants of health and disease factors, natural history of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
- Epidemiology: Principles and fundamentals of epidemiology. Epidemiologic methodology: descriptive, analytical and experimental studies. Epidemiology of infectious and non-infectious diseases.
- Prevention: Principles and fundamentals of prevention. Primary, secondary and tertiary prevention: objectives and strategies. Prevention of infectious (vaccines and vaccination strategy) and non-infectious diseases (screening programs).
- Lifestyle and Health: Tobacco smoke, alcohol, diet.

Prerequisites and exam evaluation
The examination consists into two parts: the first is a multiple-choice test. Passing the test (≥18/30) gives access to the oral examination. The oral exam is based on a critical and in-depth discussion of the topics covered by the test, in order to check and evaluate carefully the skills acquired.
Teaching methods
Teaching Mode: frontal lessons.
Attendance: highly recommended.
