Obiettivo del corso è introdurre lo studente ai concetti fondamentali del diritto internazionale e del diritto dell'Unione europea. Ciò anche al fine di permettergli di acquisire le tecniche idonee a comprendere i fenomeni sociali dal punto di vista del diritto internazionale ed europeo e il lessico necessario per descrivere i fenomeni medesimi ed esprimere le relative valutazioni critiche.

The historical evolution of the international community. States as the primary subjects of international law. Other international legal subjects, such as international organizations; peoples and individuals. The sources of international law: custom, treaties and sources envisaged in international treaties. The codification of customary international law rules. The relationship between the sources of international law: the jus cogens.
