Il corso e' fortemente consigliabile a chi voglia affrontare lo
studio teorico della materia condensata o della fisica nucleare.
Esso fornisce una dettagliata conoscenza del formalismo delle
funzioni di Green, dello sviluppo in diagrammi di Feynman, e di
tecniche di risommazione.
Nel primo modulo si affronta il formalismo di stato fondamentale
per i sistemi fermionici. Le applicazioni hanno lo scopo di illustrare
le tecniche.

Second quantization and field operators. Hartree Fock approximation. Elements
of DFT. Green functions. Gell-Mann and Low theorem. Wick's theorem and
diagrammatic expansion. Hedin's, GW, and Bethe Salpeter equations. Poles and
quasiparticles. Lehmann's expansion and retarded functions. Linear response.
Elastic media and phonons. Electron-phonon interaction. Applications to the
interacting electron gas (RPA, screening, plasma oscillations, total energy).
