The main objectives of the course are: to provide students with information on the main traditional and advanced biomolecular techniques to be used in the parasitological field; to provide students with concepts related to the transformation, use and management of transgenic mice.

Organization of the course:
1) reading scientific papers and writing material & methods
2) designing research projects
3) how to handle and store biological samples
4) research strategies; molecular biology and parasitology landmarks
5) principal molecular biology techniques
6) Next generation sequencing applications
7) recombinant proteins for immunological studied and vaccines productions

Gene targeting, Conditional gene targeting di proteine del sistema immunitario (2 ore)
Metodi di generazione di linee di topi transgenici (2 ore)
Cenni di legislazione in ambito di sperimentazione animale (2 ora)
In vivo imaging (2 ore)
Gestione di colonie murine geneticamente modificate (2 ore)
Tecnologie di modificazione genica di cellule in vitro (2 ore)
