Sociology and Methods of Education On Legality
A.Y. 2018/2019
Learning objectives
The course aims to explain the strategic importance of educational processes for the quality of democracies and for fighting or preventing corrupt, secret or violent powers. It underlines that education to legality is not a pacific activity but it often needs a hard conflict with moral and cultural conventions. The course uses in this perspective the analytical categories of Machiavelli and Gramsci, Kelsen and Bourdieu or Bobbio, Leopardi or Pasolini or Dom Milani and applies them to the Italian context, trying to read from different points of view some relevant theoretical problems of the civil modernization. Big space is reserved in the second part to various experiences of educational movements developed in the recent Italian history.
