Learning objectives
The learning objective is to provide a dynamic vision of the agricultural sector in terms of production needs and natural resources conservation.
Expected learning outcomes
The expected learning outcomes are:
- to know the agricultural systems at territorial and farm scale, and the agrometeorological variables and their effects on the plants and crops;
- to know the mechanisms of chemical and hydrological cycles;
- capacity to analyse relationships between the different system components;
- to know the soil-crop relationships.

Course syllabus
Agroecology principles. Analysis of the farming system, the farm its properties and functions. Farm typologies: conventional, integrated, organic. Applied Agrometeorology. Agronomic optimization of the crop in space and time (crop rotation, agroforestry). Agronomic plans (soil preparation and tillage, sowing/planting, irrigation, stress management, fertilization); harvesting and conserving the products. Some examples of crops: cereals, pulses, fodder, industrial. Ecosystem Services

Knowledge in Ecology, Botany, Biology
Teaching methods
Conventional lecture, project based learning, working in small or larger groups, process simulation, complex phenomena discussion for critical thinking development

Assessment methods and Criteria
At the end of the course, the assessment will be carried out both on the group activity and a written test with open and closed questions
